SplendidCRM Software, a provider of Microsoft-centric customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, is the first open-source CRM to offer a Business Rules Engine in all editions.
"Our Business Rules Engine (BRE) is just one more feature provided by Microsoft that we are able to integrate into our CRM. From day one, we have felt that the Microsoft Windows platform was the ideal development platform due to its treasure-trove of features," said Paul Rony, president and founder of SplendidCRM Software. The Business Rules Engine is included in all editions, including the free Community Edition, thereby making it available to the widest audience possible.
The Business Rules Engine allows an end-user to define a condition and apply a rule in an If-Then-Else construct using a simple programming language. In addition to allowing business rules to be applied to a module, rules can also be applied to the user interface to allow customization and validation of entry forms. Users of the Enterprise Edition get the ability to create complex formulas within a workflow, extending what can be done without the need for a developer.
"Our Business Rules Engine is a game-changer for us. We are no longer just a follower, but a leader in the open-source CRM marketspace," Rony said in a statement. "Even more significant is the fact that we provide the source code to our Business Rules Engine, thereby teaching the world how to do the same in their custom enterprise applications."
SplendidCRM has experienced record growth in 2010, largely due to increased lead generation and channel marketing activities. The SplendidCRM feature set continues to grow with an integrated email client that supports POP3, IMAP, and Exchange Server (on the Professional and Enterprise Editions). A number of existing features were updated to support Microsoft's latest releases, such as support for Visual Studio 2010, .NET Framework 4.0, and Report Builder 3.0.
