S1, an Atlanta-based provider of e-finance solutions, acquired CRM vendor Point Information Systems of Dublin, Ireland. The move will help S1 round out its product portfolio and strengthen its European presence. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
S1's Enterprise eFinance software helps companies provide better customer service across multiple channels. More than 3,700 banks, credit unions, insurance providers and investment firms use the product, S1 claims. With the Point Information Systems acquisition, S1 gains sales, service and campaign management solutions, strong call-center applications, and more than 70 customers primarily in banking, insurance, telecommunications and retail.
Enhancing S1's global presence was another key to the deal. Point Information Systems' customers are primarily in the UK and Germany and will likely also gain from the acquisition. "This deal strengthens our financial base and allows us to more effectively sell and support all of our customers on a global basis," stated Keith Holmes, CEO of Point Information Systems, which has around 100 employees.
