Behavior platform Badgeville today launched Badgeville for Salesforce.com, which is available through for AppExchange.
Featuring a turnkey integration that enables users to install the Badgeville admin console right within Salesforce.com, system users can use points, levels, achievements, and missions to reward sales behaviors, like increasing a deal size or closing a deal faster.
"There is more technology spend over the last five years, but despite the spend, there's a question of having the right engagement to use those tools," remarks Chandar Pattabhiram, vice president of worldwide marketing at Badgeville. "Fifty-four percent of customers are not involved in loyalty programs...and if you look at employees, a significant percent of them are not adopting the enterprise software [that companies are purchasing.]"
Badgeville, which counts clients like Samsung in the consumer realm, and Deloitte in the B2B space, applies a cloud-based engagement layer to enterprise systems, applications, Web sites, and mobile functionalities to encourage user adoption.
"Customers like that it's a platform-based approach and that you can start off from a particular app and take the same concepts of engagement and apply it across the customer- and employee-facing touch points using the same platform investment," Pattabhiram notes.
Within Badgeville for Salesforce.com, sales teams can earn points for behaviors like creating and responding to a lead, converting a lead, closing an opportunity faster than usual, starting a task in an opportunity, or closing an opportunity above the average deal size.
Once a salesperson converts a lead into an opportunity or closes a deal, he can unlock a collection of achievements, such as "brisk responder" or "conversationalist" that tie behaviors to business processes. Team leaderboards let salespeople see how they rank; if a seller wants to improve performance, there is the opportunity to level-up based on points value. Once an achievement is made, the news can be published to the Salesforce.com Chatter enterprise social network.
