Attivio, creator of the Active Intelligence Engine (AIE) and Actian, a provider of big data analytics, announced a strategic partnership agreement that lets Actian customers integrate and correlate human-generated, unstructured content sources with their structured data analytics.

Actian's ParAccel big data analytics platform accelerates analytic performance and enables rapid deployment of highly targeted analytics for critical initiatives, including customer segmentation, fraud prevention, risk avoidance, and digital marketing optimization. The addition of Attivio AIE's ability to include big content sources like social media, blog posts, email, research documents, SEC filings, insurance reports, legal depositions, and open-ended survey responses completes the big data analytics picture.

"Through this alliance with Attivio, our customers now have access to all internal and external sources of unstructured content, solidifying our leadership position in the big bata space," said Fred Gallagher, vice president of strategic business at Actian, in a statement. "With Attivio, we are giving customers more options and making this technology accessible to companies who recognize the value of innovation that is simply not available from legacy big-stack vendors who typically impose expensive, long-term contracts, inflexible technology, and long deployment times."

"Actian ParAccel delivers high-performance analytics on massive amounts of data," said Sid Probstein, chief technology officer at Attivio, in a statement. "Being able to access and analyze outside sources, from social media to any and all types of human-created content, provides a complete and detailed view of customers and their requirements. It advances the entire field of BI and analytics."
