Vettro Takes the Road with Siebel
Vettro 360 software makes Siebel CRM On Demand available on mobile devices at speeds Oracle can't match, says an industry analyst.

Users of Siebel CRM On Demand from Oracle will soon be able tap into sales information while on the road using software from Vettro. The company today released its Vettro 360 Sales for Siebel CRM On Demand, which funnels information directly from the CRM system to a BlackBerry, Treo, or other mobile device, says Matt Finkelstein, Vettro's vice president of product management. The Vettro 360 software is already available for other CRM applications from NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, and SugarCRM. The Vettro 360 software automatically synchronizes CRM data with most mobile devices and includes a company's customized CRM features. Salespeople who want to immediately follow up on hot leads welcome the age of the mobile device. They don't mind being married to a BlackBerry, but they don't want to leave their CRM software back at the office. "There's a lot of information leveraged through CRM that need to be immediately actionable and understandable," Finkelstein says. "With mobile access you can look at leads, update opportunities, look at reports. We have some nifty tools to allow you to enter data into the system." The Vettro software can make a company's CRM system mobile much faster than an in-house implementation would allow, says Tony Rizzo, director of research for mobile technologies at The 451 Group. "The problem with big companies like Oracle is they always try to make mobile the lowest common denominator because they have such a large user base," Rizzo says. "A mobile Oracle application that works could take a company between four and six months to create because of all the tweaking required to get it right." With a CRM system more readily available, users are more likely to tap into all its capability, Finkelstein says. "So we can offer a 100 percent no infrastructure solution." The Siebel CRM on Demand application lends itself well to Vettro's particular brand of mobilization, he adds. Vettro's software doesn't rely on in-house IT implementation. As the Siebel software is hosted off site, companies that run its On Demand CRM application need not maintain servers or other infrastructure specific to the software. Vettro removes the complexity involved with taking CRM to the road, Rizzo says. "Vettro specializes in each end-user type, so it's figured out the back end for all the software."
