USA TODAY to Manage Ad Sales With salesforce.com

The publishing division of USA TODAY, the largest selling newspaper in the U.S., has selected a CRM solution from salesforce.com to help manage its ad sales and customer service.

The newspaper's lead ad sales team, based in Virginia, plans to use salesforce.com's Web-based CRM solution to coordinate ad sales efforts and relay customer account information to sales representatives in locations worldwide.

USA TODAY, owned by publishing giant Gannett, is published via satellite at 36 U.S. locations and five foreign facilities for readers in 60 countries. "USA TODAY's reliance on smooth communication between its dispersed global sales teams makes it a perfect fit with salesfore.com's Web-based CRM solution," said Marc Benioff, salesforce.com's chairman.

USA TODAY is the nation's largest-selling daily newspaper, with a circulation of approximately 2.3 million, Gannett said.
