Telligent Community, Sitecore Integration Yields Stronger Social Community Experience

Telligent, a provider of enterprise social community and workforce collaboration software, has launched Telligent Connect for Sitecore, enabling users to seamlessly link their Web Content Management system with social community platform applications.

Precipitating the launch of Telligent Connect for Sitecore v2.5 was Telligent founder and CTO Rob Howard's observation that there has been a growing convergence between social and WCM tools.

"Our customers have told us that they want a social platform they can integrate with their different investments," Howard elaborates. "That social platform needs to be able to communicate with their social analytics tools, gamification tools, or their social media monitoring system."

Howard says marketers want to know how customers are entering communities, how they're interacting with content, how that all ties into the buying process, and what digital or email campaigns contributed to the activity.

"We're seeing, as a result, that businesses are getting better insight into their sales pipeline through the use of community tools, because people they didn't even realize were in their sales process are becoming evident when they show up in their community," Howard notes.

With its Telligent Enterprise platform, the  company powers internal communities for customers like Dell and Microsoft; in this use case, the software is used for workforce collaboration like employee networking or sales enablement. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Telligent Community platform is designed for outwardly facing functions like digital marketing or customer support scenarios, as in the case of the American Marketing Association, which uses Telligent for external communities.

"As social media continues to permeate all aspects of business communication, companies need this type of solution to bring together their existing best-in-class Web content management system with an advanced social community platform like Telligent," said Darren Guarnaccia, senior vice president of product marketing for Sitecore, in a statement. Telligent Connect for Sitecore promises a faster time to implement and less maintenance around managing separate Web and community properties, the company claims.
