An update on executives in the CRM industry.

DWL Inc., a provider of real-time enterprise customer management applications, announced the appointment of John Baumstark as president and CEO on November 29. Baumstark will be responsible for overseeing DWL's global business operations and the company's vertical markets efforts. • Web-performance specialist Redline Networks Inc. announced the appointment of Ron DiBiase as vice president of sales for the Americas and Asia Pacific on November 29. DiBiase, who has 18 years of high-tech sales and marketing experience, will be responsible for the Campbell, Calif.-based company's strategic partnerships and will build additional resources within the company focused on direct and channel sales, company representatives say. Avian Communications Inc., a provider of next-generation mobile infrastructure equipment, announced on November 29 the appointment of Jerry Stern as senior vice president of engineering. Stern will oversee the design and development of Avian's mobile services product lines. He comes to Avian from Cisco Systems Inc., where he was responsible for the development of the Intelligent Contact Manager product. Prior to Cisco, Stern held management and development positions at various companies including GeoTel Communications and Honeywell Information Systems. • On November 26 WatchGuard Technologies Inc., a Seattle-based Internet security solutions provider, announced the promotion of the Jim Cady to CEO. Cady replaces Christopher Slatt, who will continue to serve as chairman of WatchGuard's board of directors. Before moving to WatchGuard as president and COO in July, Cady was president of SonicBlue Inc. where he headed the company's Rio division. Also announced were WatchGuard's additions of Jean Nassar, who formerly held sales and marketing positions at Compaq Computer Corporation and Tektronix Inc., as senior vice president of marketing and 20-year marketing veteran Christine McClure as senior director of WatchGuard's LiveSecurity Services.
