NEW PRODUCTS LivePerson announced the availability of Timpani 7.5, its hosted enterprise CRM solution. The new marketing updates include new features within LivePerson's multichannel communication solution, including the ability to redefine rules engine, new reporting capabilities, and enhanced CRM utilities. New features include a SmartBar, to identify Web-site visitors and audience segments likely to respond to personalized offers and automatically introduces relevant content. A redefined rules engine simplifies the process of creating custom business rules that trigger relevant actions. "All visitors are not created equal," says Kevin Kohn, executive vice president of marketing. "We're trying to turn browsers into buyers. If we can impact the research, we can help in-store conversions. We've created an environment that allows you to manage your business rules. We wanted to create a mechanism that would be easier for a marketing person to manage." Coradiant has made available TrueSight TS-520 Real-User Monitor. TrueSight TS-520 offers drill-down incident management and service-level reporting capabilities of Coradiant's real-time monitoring platform in a drop-in system that is aimed at midtier financial services, e-commerce, self-service portal, publishing, midsize enterprise and Internet applications. IN THE NEWS Larry Ellison has tentatively agreed to settle a four-year-old insider trading lawsuit, according to the lawyers suing him. The sale was just weeks before the company announced that it would not meet earning expectations for its third fiscal quarter of 2001. Ellison will make charity donations as part of the settlement. "Mr. Ellison, as part of this settlement, will fund $100 million from his assets in charitable contributions over a five-year period in the name of Oracle," says Joseph Tabacco, one of the suing lawyers, in a release.
