USF chooses RightNow; SAP and Retek sign a merger agreement; SalesCenter releases SalesCenter 3-D; and more.

CUSTOMER WINS QlikTech announced that WARN Industries, a provider of off-road products, has deployed QlikView to improve sales, financial, and operational performance. The manufacturing company will use QlikView to improve internal costs accounting, sales, and corporate and product metrics. WARN has deployed more than 25 QlikView business analysis applications to employees. The deployment of QlikView took under two weeks and began with an implementation of QlikTech's Accounts Receivables and Sales Analysis applications. WARN has since added additional QlikView applications developed by their in-house development staff. RightNow Technologies announced the University of South Florida (USF) is using RightNow Services as its CRM platform to manage support interactions across phone, mail, Web, and chat channels. Since the implementation USF has seen an eight-fold increase in support volume, from 5,000 to 40,000 annually, without increasing support staff size. IN THE NEWS SAP and Retek announced that SAP America has signed a merger agreement with Retek, a provider of software solutions and services to the retail industry. The Retek board of directors has approved the agreement and has unanimously recommended to Retek stockholders they accept the offer. SAP has agreed to make a cash tender offer for all outstanding shares of Retek at $8.50 per share. The value of the offer is approximately $496 million. Miller Systems has been approved by WebTrends, a Web-analytics provider, to join the WebTrends Insight Network (WIN). As a WIN member, Miller Systems will extend its relationship with WebTrends as a certified WebTrends reseller and receive additional WebTrends training to help customers maximize the success of online initiatives. The WIN is an international group of Web agencies and consultancies that develop best practices for their customers using WebTrends' Web-analytic solutions. NEW PRODUCTS SalesCenter, a provider of hosted on-demand sales force automation (SFA) solutions, unveiled SalesCenter 3-D, which includes new enhancements such as a 3-D relational database, an A-to-Z address book system, a sales manager approval process, and third-party software integration. The advanced features are designed to offer users improved scalability, customization, flexibility, and improved workflow processes. In addition, SalesCenter 3-D will also combine databases, such as contacts, companies, and deals to enable the creation of multilevel reports.
Hyperion announced the launch of Hyperion Compliance Management Dashboard. The solution was designed to merge internal control data, such as those defined by the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission, with financial data to help companies improve reporting accuracy and confidence in financial statements and meet compliances with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
