Brainshark has taken the core capabilities of its single-user SlideShark iPad app and transferred them to a version designed with multi-user functionality in mind.
Launched this fall, SlideShark was downloaded twice per minute in the Apple App Store, precipitating the launch of SlideShark Team Edition for companies. Brainshark CEO Joe Gustafson calls it “the next, natural evolution of our product,” and of the company’s mobile strategy to optimize a desktop presentation for iPad with plans for integration with other tablet devices.
"What the team edition allows a sales ops manager or a marketing manager [to do] is to upload the core content…and see which reps are downloading the presentation, and which are sharing and using it out in the field," says Andy Zimmerman, chief marketing officer for Brainshark.
Beyond measuring usage and compliance, the analytics function built into the mobile presentation app gives organizations better access to customer data, which is integrated with Brainshark Connector for Salesforce.com right into users' CRM systems. It's a good way to see "how your content is resonating," Zimmerman notes, based on who is viewing the presentation and for how long.
Other features included in the SlideShark Team Edition include:
- Central management: Team account administrators can manage user permissions, controls, and billing
- Team storage: 5GB-plus of team storage
- Personal user content: Individuals can transfer PowerPoint decks to SlideShark, then convert them to an iPad-ready format
- Secure data environment: Enterprise-class cloud computing infrastructure
With the team edition, Brainshark is "building off of the individual functionality to properly render PowerPoint with animation, fonts, colors, and graphics intact," notes Jay Wilder, director of product marketing for Brainshark, and making a more scalable solution for the group environment. There is a free, 60-day trial period for the team edition; team accounts are then available for $149 per year, per user.
