Top Brass on the Move

Art Technology Group Inc., a developer of online CRM applications, announced that it has selected veteran executive Robert Burke as president, CEO, and a member of the board of directors. Burke succeeds Paul Shorthose as president and CEO. Burke has held a number of senior executive and leadership positions during his more than 25-year career, including positions at Digital Equipment Corp., ePresence Inc., and Quidnunc. In addition, the company has announced that Jeet Singh, cofounder, chief strategy officer, and director, is leaving the company to focus on personal interests. Other industry appointments include Paul Segre, hired as senior vice president and CTO at Alcatel's Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories Inc. subsidiary. Segre will now lead Genesys's overall technological direction, including all engineering, product management, technical support, and program management activities. Segre most recently served as vice president and general manager of Alcatel's Wireline Access business unit. Prior to that Segre held the position of vice president and general manager of the advanced products division for DSC, and held various senior management positions at AT&T in network management and workforce management. Genesys also announced that Bonnie Crater has joined the company as senior vice president of marketing. Crater will guide Genesys' marketing strategies, including product marketing, market development, and marketing communications. Crater previously held various positions at Netscape Communications, Oracle Corp., and Compaq.
