Talend Announces New Big Data Integration Solutions
Talend, a provider of open-source software, has launched data integration and data quality solutions for the entire EMC Greenplum database and data analytics portfolio.
Talend is certified to support a broad range of Greenplum products, including Greenplum Database, Greenplum Unified Analytics Platform, Greenplum HD, and Greenplum MR.
"To gain insight from Big Data you need an analytics platform that integrates structured and unstructured analytics, which Greenplum readily provides," said David Menninger, head of strategy at Greenplum, a division of EMC, in a statement. "Now with Talend, customers can more easily integrate the Greenplum platforms with the rest of their information systems."
Optimized for structured, unstructured, semi-structured, and machine-generated data, the Talend Platform for Big Data offers a broad set of tools to load, extract, and cleanse data located in diverse data sources and govern big data projects centrally. It also provides unique data quality features that allow organizations to identify and link connected records.
The Talend Platform for Big Data is now certified on the following Greenplum platforms:
- Greenplum Database – a massively parallel processing (MPP) database that manages, stores, and analyzes petabytes of structured data.
- Greenplum UAP – a single unified platform enabling agile big data analytics.
- Greenplum HD – a 100 percent interface-compatible implementation of the Apache Hadoop stack.
- Greenplum MR – based on MapR's M5 Distribution, a platform designed to increase the performance and availability of Hadoop via breakthrough innovations.

A part of the Talend Platform for Big Data, Talend Open Studio for Big Data is an open-source solution for big data integration that natively supports Apache Hadoop, including connectors for Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), HBase, Pig, Sqoop and Hive.
