SAP Releases New Analytics and Sales Updates

SAP today announced new analytics software that bundles SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence solutions with the SAP Sybase IQ Server, a high-performance data foundation designed specifically for analytics. The solutions help organizations of all sizes gain better insight into big data with advanced data visualization, self-service data discovery, mobile BI, and predictive capabilities.

SAP currently offers the following analytics editions:

  • SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence suite, analytics edition;
  • SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform, analytics edition;
  • SAP BusinessObjects BI, Edge analytics edition; and
  • SAP Crystal Server, analytics edition.

"With the new analytics editions of SAP BusinessObjects BI and SAP Crystal solutions, customers can start driving their own decision revolutions more cost-effectively than ever before," said John Schweitzer, senior vice president and general manager of Analytics at SAP, in a statement. "As technologies such as BI, data warehousing, and data integration continue to come together, organizations large and small are looking for end-to-end solutions that can turn 'big data' into 'intelligent data' and quickly answer any business question. The analytics editions take this even further by offering the expert content they need to accelerate return on investment."

The German business software manufacturer also today released a new version of its mobile sales application. Through the new SAP Customer Insight mobile app, SAP Sales OnDemand now offers relevant and in-context sales intelligence visualized in a 'sales cockpit'. The interface presents everything sales management and sales professionals need on the road, all wrapped up in a new design.

New sales intelligence functionality allows salespeople to go beyond today's social selling. Sales professionals can tap into relevant customer information and identify buying patterns to deliver the right impact in every conversation with a customer, ultimately accelerating sales cycles.

The solution provides the latest online customer and competitive intelligence, targeted contacts, guided selling materials, and a 360-degree customer view. Built-in features include access to upcoming activities and appointments; key customer information, such as pricing, quotes and orders from back-office systems; real-time news feeds; and key contacts and deals. Integration with the social software solution from SAP, SuccessFactors Jam, enables sales teams to collaborate in real time around sales proposals, engage customers directly for requirements collection, or enable post-sales follow up.
