Pumatech and Oracle Announce Synchronization Solution

Pumatech, provider of synchronization software and services, has released a solution to synchronize the Web-based Oracle E-Business Suite Calendar with Microsoft Outlook and handheld PCs using Palm operating software. The new solution, called Intellisync for Oracle, uses Pumatech's Intellisync engine to provide two-way synchronization of appointments, business contacts and to-do lists between the Oracle E-Business Suite and either Microsoft Outlook or Palm OS handhelds. Pumatech says Intellisync for Oracle will ensure accuracy and reliability by incorporating patented Intellisync capabilities like conflict resolution (eliminates duplicate entries) and data filtering (allows users to sync specific ranges of information). Mark Israelsen, vice president of Oracle market development partner programs, says, "By teaming up with Pumatech to create the Intellisync for Oracle solution, we will enable our customers to extend the power of many of the Oracle E-Business Suite applications. "Through a two-way synchronization process, users will be able to access and manipulate essential contact, appointment and to-do information with the most popular productivity tools, such as Palm OS handhelds and Outlook," Israelsen says. Clyde Foster, Pumatech's senior vice president of sales and marketing, says, "We're delighted that Oracle has selected Pumatech to help make the Oracle E-Business Suite an even more indispensable tool than it already is. The combination of Oracle E-Business Suite and Intellisync will enable Oracle customers to maximize productivity and profits by dramatically reducing the time required to access essential information." Under the terms of the agreement Pumatech will handle all marketing, sales, and fulfillment of the Intellisync for Oracle software. Pricing of Intellisync for Oracle begins at $139 per seat for five to 200 users.
