Insightly Integrates CRM Solution with Quickbooks Online, Dropbox, and Box

Small business CRM suite vendor Insightly has integrated its customer relationship management solution with file-sharing providers Dropbox and Box, as well as with accounting service company Quickbooks Online. Immediately available, the integrations were developed in response to a growing demand from customers.

"We started our initial integration with Google Drive to allow our users to share documents, and it was very popular. They liked having the ability to attach Google Drive files to customer profiles, and we had a lot of demand from people that use other systems for file sharing," Anthony Smith, CEO of Insightly, says.

Though Insightly's core customer base is small businesses, many of its customers have between 100 to 200 employees. As a result, Smith says it was important to create integrations with both Box, which corporations and large firms rely on, and Dropbox, which is more suited for small and midsized organizations. "We've got some clients with a 100-person marketing team, and some with a one- or two-person marketing team," Smith says. "We wanted to make sure we were meeting all of their needs," he explains.

With the integrations in place, users can link files to any contact, organization, opportunity, or project within their Insightly CRM account. For Insightly users that access their accounts on the go, this is going to be a "lifesaver," Smith says.

The QuickBooks Online integration is going to maximize efficiency for users as well, and will enable them to access any record within Insightly via the QuickBooks Online tab without having to enter data or log in twice. "It provides a holistic view of the end customer all in one place. There's no need to go back and forth between solutions," according to Smith. This will save time, streamline the flow of information, and give users a clearer view of customer account history including invoices and payments in addition to their CRM data.

"Since adopting Insightly, our average time to complete a project has decreased by 28 percent, which we attribute to the QuickBooks Online integration. Before, we could not move through the process pipeline without an initial deposit or final payment from a client. And without verification from accounts receivable, we couldn't move to the next stage, slowing the process considerably. Now, we immediately have complete visibility into the status of a project from an operational and financial perspective," James Pennock, accounts manager and business strategist at Create180 Design, an Insightly customer, said in a statement.

Moving forward, Smith says there are more integrations to come. "We've noticed that our customers that use Insightly together with third-party services want more value out of it. When we bring these integrations to them, we see them using the product a lot more so we want to encourage it," he says. The company has hired an integration team to build additional integrations and make them available to customers soon, he adds.
