Cirrus Insight Brings Zendesk, Desk.com, and Quickbooks to Gmail

Cirrus Insight, a company known for its integrations between Salesforce.com and Google's Gmail and other Google Apps, has integrated Desk.com and Zendesk, a provider of customer service applications built on the Salesforce.com platform, with Gmail.

Desk.com and Zendesk customers can now create and manage customer support cases right from Gmail through Cirrus insight. The new integrations also allow users to check the status of support tickets and save email to those tickets right from their inboxes without having to toggle back and forth between apps.

The value of these integrations is that users can now see all of their dealings with a customer and take actions on them without having to leave the inbox, says Jason Hubbard, vice president of marketing at Cirrus Insight.

At the same time, Cirrus Insight also announced an integration of Intuit's Quickbooks, the small business accounting solution, and Salesforce with Gmail, allowing users to view and manage invoices, contacts, and accounts right from Gmail.

According to Hubbard, Cirrus Insight natively supports most apps in Salesforce's App Exchange. "Salesforce is a great platform that allows developers to build out their own supporting apps," he says.

For Cirrus Insight, the latest integrations signal a move upstream. When the company first started, it focused primarily on the small and midsized business space, and though those types of businesses still make up the majority of its client roster, it has been signing some key larger enterprises lately, Hubbard says.

To accommodate moves like these, Cirrus Insight completely re-architected its integration platform in July "with an eye toward more integrations," Hubbard points out.

Some of the more recent ones have included Timba Surveys, a customer feedback collection application, and Arrowpointe's Geopointe, a geolocation application for the Salesforce platform.

The company is looking next toward the document and contract management segment, allowing users to automate the document and signature capturing process right from within Gmail, according to Hubbard.

"Cirrus Insight is not just sales-focused. You can do sales, support, and administrative functions now right from within Gmail," he says. "You can support an entire organization now."
