CRM Magazine Announces the 2006 Market Award Winners

The best and the brightest in the CRM industry were celebrated last night as CRM magazine announced this year's CRM Market Award recipients. The awards recognize people and companies that have performed at the highest level, shaping the industry and pushing it forward. The magazine lauded these companies and individuals at a dinner last night at the destinationCRM 2006 Conference.

"The CRM industry is showing continued momentum, marked by its second straight year of double-digit growth. Our 2006 CRM Market Award recipients are largely responsible for this turnaround as they continue to help their clients make better use of customer data. Congratulations to this year's CRM Market Award recipients," said David Myron, editor-in-chief of CRM magazine.

The awards span all segments of the CRM industry. The Influential Leader and Hall of Fame awards celebrate industry luminaries who have made the CRM industry what it is today and who are shaping it into what it will be tomorrow. The Elite showcases user companies that have commendably implemented CRM practices to garner impressive ROI. The Rising Star and Market Leader nods recognize vendors that are on the top of the CRM industry, or are quickly getting there.

The winners of this year's Influential Leader awards in alphabetical order are:

Edward Abbo, senior vice president of CRM products, Oracle
Larry Ellison, CEO, Oracle
Greg Gianforte, CEO and founder, RightNow Technologies
Zach Nelson, president and CEO, NetSuite
Brad Wilson, general manager, Microsoft CRM

The Hall of Fame award recognizes those who satisfy the same criteria for the Influential Leader award, but have gone beyond to make their name a lasting legacy in CRM. This year Sheryl Kingstone, program manager for Yankee Group's Customer-Centric Strategies service, became the first female inductee.

The Elite award showcases companies in four categories that have seen impressive results from their CRM initiatives by meeting or exceeding their project goals. The winners for this year's CRM Elite award are:

Enterprise Suite CRM: Glenmede Trust Company
Midmarket Suite CRM: Pacific Coast Feather
SMB Suite CRM: POS Supply Solutions
Marketing Automation: Interval International

The Rising Star awards showcase companies that are either emerging contenders in strong markets or strong contenders in emerging markets. They have made their mark this year and we expect them to expand their footprint in the next. This year's Rising Stars in alphabetical order are:

Callidus Software
CAS
Perseus Development/WebSurveyor
SugarCRM
Visible Path

The CRM Market Leader awards recognize the top vendors in eight categories:

Enterprise Suite CRM
Midmarket Suite CRM

Consultancies

Each category includes one winner, four leaders, and one or two companies to watch, which are selected based on weighted criteria that include market share, reputation for customer satisfaction, depth of functionality, and company direction. The criteria for Consultants varies slightly as they have no product. This category is judged on reputation for customer satisfaction, reputation for services offered, and ability to execute.
