The enterprise applications market will grow $17 billion, from $47.8 billion in 2004 to $64.8 billion by 2009, according to AMR Research's "The Enterprise Applications Global Forecast, 2004-2009." ERP vendors' revenue derived from CRM applications has grown from 6 percent to 12 percent in the past four years.
Forty-five percent of companies surveyed for Aberdeen Group's "The Service-Oriented Architecture in the Supply Chain Benchmark Report: What Supply Chain Managers Need to Know" have SOA projects involving the supply chain under way. Seventeen percent are planning projects in the next 12 months, 20 percent would like to learn more, 14 percent have no action planned, and 4 percent responded "not interested." The report, which was sponsored by DW Morgan, One Network Enterprises, and Sun Microsystems, is based on a survey of approximately 300 line-of-business executives.
The number of call center agents based in Central and Eastern Europe servicing Western businesses' customers, from the United Kingdom to regions including Germany, Italy, Scandinavia, and Spain, will balloon from 1,900 in 2004 to 6,400 in 2008, according to Datamonitor.
By 2010 only 10 percent of emerging security threats will require the deployment of a best-of-breed security solution, compared to 80 percent in 2005, Gartner announced at its October 2005 Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando.
